Somebody To Love; The Pre-Proposal

They walked with their hands intertwined with each other as they walk along the streets of SS2. Happy as he was, he couldn't stop smiling. He was living the fantasy he had always wanted. A girl who was loyal to him, a girl who would love him for who he was, a girl who wouldn't want him to change himself for her. He was madly in love with her. "Hey... Have you ever kissed anyone before you met me?...". Hoping for the answer he wanted, he held his breath as he waited eagerly for her answer. "No. I'm embarrassed as most of my friends have already lost theirs but I was waiting for the right person. I'm glad I gave it to you. What about you?.."as she asked curiously. He let out a sigh of relief. Finally, he met a girl whom hasn't lost her first kiss to someone else. He wanted her to be his and her first kiss. He wanted to be hers forever. He looked in to her eyes, opened his mouth and was interrupted by, "Hey Kon! Fancy meeting you here! What are you guys doing here?" as he was interrupted by Rick. They both looked at him with surprise. "Hey! Yeah we already had breakfast! What are you doing here?" and they both continued their conversation as they all proceeded to a coffee shop to have a drink before starting college. As they returned back to their car, Sally kept looking at Kon and her heart continued to beat faster and faster. She never got his answer so she decided to ask him again. "Hey.. You never actually answer my.... "

*ring ring

The phone vibrated in her bag and she went to answer it. She excused herself and answered the phone in the car and Kon smiled at her. She was talking to her best friend, Samantha about Rick. Samantha had this huge crush on Rick and no matter what she did, she couldn't stop thinking about him. So Sally was giving her advices on what to do. The conversation went on until college. Kon dropped her off a her class and they kissed each other goodbye. Kon proceeded to Starbucks where he would normally sit down, sip a cup of coffee as he opens his laptop and starts blogging about what was happening in his life. His phone vibrated on the table, he opended his Whatsapp message and it was from Sally. "I miss you, baby. Sorry for always making you wait. I know it gets boring. You're the best;) I love you!". He smiled at the message and replied "Anything for you:) I love you too!". It wasn't more than 2 hours but he started to miss her so much. His only weakness was being away from her. She was his kryptonite. "I miss you a lot... Don't ever leave me okay?" as he unlocked his phone to send her a message. 3 minutes later, his phone vibrated. He opened the message and he smiled as he felt a warm feeling in his heart. A feeling he never felt before.

"Dear, you okayy? :( Don't ever think that I'm gonna leave you, alright? I love you so so so so much. You're really the best thing that has ever happened to me. I'm sorry. I know I am very demanding and all. I know I shouldn't be. Just tell me if there's anything :/ I love you, baby boy <3 ;) You are mine, I am yours."

1800hours

She got into the elevator, pressed the G button and as the elevator was descending to the ground floor, she took out her phone and told Kon that she was on the way down. As she walked into Starbucks, he was no where to be found and a pair of arms were wrapped around her back. "Gotcha didn't I?" as he smiled and kissed her cheek. She slapped him on the arm and gave him the angry but cute look "Not funny okay?!" as she folded her arms. He wrapped his left arm around her and they both journeyed to their car. Kon decided to bring her to a hill where you could see the rays of the sun as the sun sets. It was the most beautiful place that he has ever seen and so he brought her there. As it was isolated, it was peaceful. You could hear the birds chirping, the crickets rubbing their legs to produce that high pitch noise and the movement of the leaves as the wind dances around them. The rays from the sun reflected so beautifully on her brown hair. Kon stared at her and was lost in her eyes. Sally thought to herself and breathed in heavily "Kon, you haven't answered me yet. Did you lose your first...". She was interrupted by a pair of lips landing softly on hers. Her eyes widened. He wrapped his hands around hers tightly as he pulled her closer to his body. "No. You were the first person I've kissed. I will never let you go ever. You were and are the best thing that has ever happened in my life in such a long time. Don't ever leave me. Don't ever leave my heart to be in solitude again. You are the girl I wanna spend the rest of my life with. You are the girl whom I wanna marry." He glanced and searched the surroundings for a vine. "What are you doing, Kon??..." He smiled at her and continued searching and there he found a vine beautifully hanging down from a tree. He pulled it apart and crafted it in to a shape of a ring. He knelt on one foot, grabbed her hands and asked with a soft but loving voice, "Sally, will you marry me in 8 years time?". Her heart stopped, a tear drop rolling down her face, her hand covering her mouth as she opened her mouth and answered ...

"Yes..."

Someone To Love; The Warm Greeting

He closes his eyes and the only thing he sees are the needles that pierces his heart. The images of the kissing and the hugging were stucked in his head. He could not sleep because everytime he would close his eyes, he would get nightmares. The pain that he has been trying to forget, remains still in his mind. He thought that talking to his friends would have started the healing process but it did nothing. So he took the only way that he thought was best which was keeping to himself. Every time his friends asked him out to go out with them, he just said "No thank you.. I just wanna be alone..". They understood his pain but they just didn't want him to be alone because they were worried for him. Worried for what he may have done to himself. Why? Scars all over his hands, hospitalized for a week for over-dosage of sleeping pills and was given anti-depressant and anti-anxiety pills. Until one day, Jayson, a friend of his, decided to confront him and tell him that whatever he was doing was really stupid. 'You're just taking the easy way out of life, aren't you!? You'll find someone better! She didn't love you! Get up on your ass and start facing reality like a man!". Right after that, Kon reflected back on his life. He realized he has been pushing his friends away. He lost someone he loved but he knew, he didn't wanna lose everyone he loved just because he lost one. He thought to himself, "Right now.. The best thing I can do is not to push everyone away but at least act like I am okay.. I don't want to lose them all.. I'll fake a smile for them...". The next day, he sent a text message to everyone. "Hey guys... I know I have been pushing all of you away and I am really sorry. It is just hard because of what happened so I would like to make it up to all of you. Do you guys wanna go out tonight??..." The good friends he has, they all went out with him just to help and to support him. He smiled, he laughed, he played but it was all fake. He went home drunk from the sadness within him as he could not take lying to his friends.

Present

No more nightmares, no more depression and no more insomnia. This had been one of the best sleep he has ever had. Thinking about the way she flipped her hair, how she smelled like, the way her chest pressed against his and the way her lips moved around his, he just felt so very happy. He woke up the next morning with a smile on his face and in an instant, he quickly grabbed his phone, dialed her number and waited for her to pick up. "Hello? Baby, good morning!!" as she said with a loud and cheerful voice. It warmed his heart. He wanted her voice to be the first thing he heard in the morning and he missed her so very much. "Good morning, baby. What time did you wake up?" as he asked with a warm but tired voice. They continued to talk on the phone until she said she wanted to meet up with him on that day itself as she missed him so very much too. He grabbed his keys, opened the gates and got in to his car. He drove fast but carefully to the house and as he walked to the compound of her apartment, she was waiting downstairs in the lobby. He got out of the car and was greeted by a pair of arms surrounding his body. His eyes opened widely, another heartbeat could be felt against his chest and her lips on his, that was the best greeting he ever received. He smiled and said "Good morning, my love. I am here.." and they both hugged each other. She smiled, held his hands and looked into this eyes, "Good morning, my love. Welcome home..." and they both kissed while holding hands.

Someone To Love; The Second Meeting

*beep beep

She checks her phone.

"Hey! It was nice meeting you the other day at thes snooker centre! Hope we can meet up again. By the way, this is Kon!"

She smiles but out of confusion, she asked herself, 'How did he get my number' but she was overwhelmed by the fact that she still received a text from Kon. Without any hesitation, she presses the menu button and presses reply. "Hey! How did you get my number!? It doesn't matter :3 yea it was nice meeting you too! Hope to meet you soon!" She holds the phone to her chest with two hands and looks up to the sky wondering what could this be that she's feeling. As the days go by, they continued to text each other. Every one minute, the phone will start to ring. They take out their phone, look at the message and smile as they reply back. Kon would normally imagine what she would be wearing, what she would be doing and what her emotions would have been when she replies him. At last, Sally took a while to reply. She was wondering to herself for awhile and then she gained the courage to do it. "Hey Kon... Would you like to go out a second time..? It is okay if you don't want to okay??". As she pressed the send button, her heart racing and a cold sweat ran down her back. Kon reached into his pocket, pulled out his phone and opened the message. His grinned and replied "Yeah! Sure! When!?"

Dressed in black a shirt and blue jeans, he waited at the ice skating rink. Dressed in a red batman t-shirt and a green hot pants, she walked to the ice skating rink. Both wondering what would it be like when they met up. "Hey! I'm already at the ice skating rink waiting for you! <3" as he said on the phone flirtatiously. "Turn around" as she tried to talk in the cute voice. He gulped, a sweat rolled down the side of his face, he turned with a grin and before he could react, she ran into his arms and hugged him. Both blushing, both wondering what the heck they were doing but both wanting it so badly. "I missed you alot..." she said to him in a soft whispery voice. He didn't know what to say but just held her tighter. "Hey.. I've actually never done this before but would you like to be...My... Girlfriend?....". Instantly in a heartbeat, she replied with a satisfied yet embarrased voice "YES!" and held him even tighter. Speechless, he held her back close to his chest yet both blushing altogether. To break the ice between them, Kon quickly came up with a topic. "Imagine Rick's reaction when he finds out that we're together. Let's go and pick him up from college!" as he smiled to her. Out of curiousity, she agreed with a huge grin and nod. After ice skating, they got in to the car and held hands on all the way.

1800hours

The time had come for Rick's college to come to an end as he walked down the stairs. Kon and Sally were waiting by the stair. As Rick followed Kon and Sally to the car, Kon held Sally's hand and looked at Rick. Sally, with a blush, smiled and looked at Rick too. "Hey Rick!". As Rick turned his eyes to meet with Kon, he looked confused and replied 'What?". Kon smiled creepily yet happily to Rick and Rick realized what was going on. Jaw dropped, right hand raised up and fingers pointed at Sally and Kon. Finding the words to say, he finally caught a few and shouted with surprise "I KNEW IT!". Sally and Kon looked at each other and started laughing. Rick decided to walk awkwardly behind and didn't talk the whole way back to his house. Instead he was moaning weirdly and hiding behind his bag in the car. Kon looked at Sally and smiled saying.. "Thanks for everything.." as blood started to rise to his head and feel the blood vessels in his cheeks. Sally looked at him with eyes that looked like the sea and said 'There's nothing to thank me for. I said yes. Thank us" and kissed his cheek. Rick just raised the bag closer to his face to avoid what was going on. He was shocked yet happy for them but needed time to adjust. As Kon dropped Rick off at his house, Rick quickly ran into the house without saying thank you and locked his door. Sally and Kon laughed at him but decide to drive on.

As Kon drove to Sally's house to drop her off, he was wondering to himself. "Should I do it...?" and decided to grow some. He looked at Sally in her eyes at the front of her lobby, put his arms around her, and leaned in for a kiss. Instead of rejecting it, she willingly accepted it. She wrapped her arms around his neck and said...

Someone to Love; Kon's Beginning

On the way home, under the hot sun, I sat in my friend's car. He kept going on and on about how irritated he was with his girlfriend. He always complained that his girlfriend always wanted to spend time with him. He hated the fact that his girlfriend was so clingy. He even asked me why did he even get together with her. The truth is, I think he just didn't have the balls to break up with her but what right do I have to say anything? I'm single, I'm lonely. I want someone whom I can talk to about my day. Someone whom I could cuddle with. Suddenly, I thought of my ex girlfriend who cheated on me. We were together for about 2 years. I went on a trip to Thailand for 2 weeks. I didn't wanna go because there was a fear in me that she was going to leave me by the time I came back. She told me to trust her and so, I did. I trusted her. I adventured Thailand with my friends and everyday, I would receive a text from her and it always ends with "I love you!". I was having fun in Thailand under the beautiful sunlight, surrounded by nature and really friendly people. If you were to compare them to the people back at my homeland, you would never get a warm greeting when you enter a restaurant or even a taxi.

Three days before I went back home, a friend of mine sent me a multimedia message. I waited until I got back to my hotel to open it. As I pressed the screen of my Iphone, my hands started vibrating with anger yet sorrow, tears started to roll down my face, clunching my fist and grinding my teeth. I saw it. I saw it all. They said a picture can tell a thousand words. This time, a picture didn't tell a thousand words. It only made me speechless. She was hugging someone else. As I scrolled to the next picture, she was kissing someone else. I dropped my phone and every thought of suicide went through my mind. I only thought of running to the balcony and jumping off the 32nd floor but my sub-conscious got the better of me. It held me back.

Six months has passed since that incident. I haven't talked to her eversince then. I hadn't contacted her since then. As I stared out the window of my friend's car, I kept wondering to myself. Will I ever find someone else? Will I ever find love again? All these questions went through my mind. Here, I have a friend complaining about his girl yet all I see is him being a jackass. She loves him so very much and that's why she's clingy yet all he can do is rant about how clingy she is. He doesn't appreciate her. I hated that part of him yet I was jealous of him to have a girl like that. A girl who wouldn't cheat on you yet remain loyal to you. He dropped me off at my best friend's college, Rick. He studied multimedia and I found that very interesting. Rick told me that he wanted to introduce me to some of his friends at college. So he drove me out to a snooker centre. It was raining so heavily and it was hard to see the road. He drove slowly to avoid any careless accidents. We parked right outside the snooker centre. I knew the moment we got out of the car and ran to the snooker centre, we would already have been drenched. So I took out my poncho and shared it with him. As I walked in to the snooker centre, I saw two guys and a girl. I couldn't see her properly as I was drying my poncho.

After hanging my poncho somewhere to dry, I wiped my hands on my shirt and put on a fake smile. I looked up and shook the hands of Rick's college friends. As I walked to the her, I looked down as I couldn't look at another girl with such dignity. As I shook her hand, she scolded me, telling me that I was rude. That shocked me and all of the sudden, my back stood up straight, head held high and eyes looking at hers. She was wearing a blue short hot pants, a blue Superman t-shirt and her brownish-red hair falling freely. As I looked into her black eyes, I thought "Wow..". I apoligized but I tried to play it cool. "Well, it is nice to see you. So you're the Japanese boy Rick has been telling me about eh? It's great to finally meet you. Hi, I'm Sally.". I smiled and said "Umm.... Hey. I'm Kon. Sorry about it earlier... Just not used to talking to girls.". My heart began to beat fast, sweat started to roll down my back and as I gulped the viscid, watery fluid down my mouth, I said "Rick talks about you too. It's nice to finally meet you in person.". In Rick's mind, he wondered, "Now what is the worst that can happen by letting Kon and Sally meet?". This is where it all begins... To Be Continued
